A standing seam facade for North Hertfordshire College's state-of-the-art sports facility: the individual profile width of the metal facade cladding gives the building a unique design and makes the sports hall shine in new splendor!
The new sports facility at the Hitchin Campus of North Hertfordshire College, UK opened at the beginning of October. The facility includes a new 3g pitch, a gym and a state-of-the-art sports hall clad in an anthracite grey BEMO standing seam facade. The buildings were designed by Saunders Architecture to connect to the existing college campus and accessed through landscaped public spaces. The special architecture is complemented by an aluminum facade as a distinctive design element, making the sports facility a modern eye-catcher.

Ideally, a substructure free of thermal bridges - e.g. BEMO-TEKOFIX-A++ - is used when designing facades with metal standing seam profiles. This ensures thermal insulation while keeping the system structure low. Optimal also for facade renovations!
For the sports facility of the North Hertfordshire College, standing seam aluminum sheets in the color anthracite gray (RAL7016) were used for the cladding. To give the building an individual look, the N65/400 and N65/250 standing seam sheets were implemented with different widths. This creates an interesting facade appearance despite straight structures. Due to the material mix between brick base and dark metal facade, the building shines in a modern "industrial style".
